25 More Ways to #PlayHooky

If you didn’t participate in our third annual Hooky Day on Oct. 19, no worries – we just want you to take your  day off before the year comes to a close. To help you prep for it, we have even more ways for you to enjoy your day. (Need more inspiration? Check out our previous post for other activities you can do). 

1. Do at home facials 

You can whip up a DIY face mask or get your favorite one from the store. 


2. Meditate

Find a comfortable and quiet space in your home to practice returning to self. 

3. Go to a therapy appointment

Embarking on a therapy journey can be intimidating but the life-changing insights are so worth it. 

4. Get creative in the kitchen

Try a new recipe! Or remix one of your favorite dishes. 

5. Learn how to make your favorite drink 

Enjoy happy hour from home. Try out a cocktail kit from one of our favorite brands, Seoulfully Inspired.  

6. Learn how to make a flower arrangement 

Surprise a loved one with a beautiful bouquet – or treat yourself to one. 

7. Visit a trampoline park 

Unleash your inner child and bounce away.

8. Go see a drag race

Alexa, play “Life is a Highway” by Rascal Flatts. 

9. Start training for a marathon

You’ll learn so much about how strong you are in the process. 

10. Visit your local animal shelter

You may come home with a new furry friend. 

11. Go bowling

We see strikes in your future. 

12. Do a float tank

These pods eliminate all external sensory stimulation as you float on your back, allowing for ultimate relaxation. 

13. Find a local hiking trail 

Get some fresh air and enjoy nature while getting a good workout. 

14. Take a photography course 

Tap into your creative potential as you learn how to capture life’s everyday moments. 

15. Or take an acting class 

Who knows, a star may be born. At the very least, you can take a break from reality. 

16. Have a solo dance party featuring your favorite tunes 

Use every cringey dance move at your disposal. 

17. Or invite your friends to a dance party 

And a virtual one still counts! 

18. Find an outdoor live music performance 

We challenge you to go see an artist you’ve never heard of. You might find your next favorite musician. 

19. Try golf lessons 

“Fore!” 

20. Have recess

We don’t know about y’all, but a game of tag with friends in the backyard sounds like a good time right about now. 

21. Climb a rock wall 

Put those legs and arm muscles to the test. 

22. Take a ballroom dance class

Pretend you’re Cinderella for an evening (the live-action one starring Brandy, of course).

23. Try an acupuncture appointment 

This practice has shown to relieve pain and balances energy. 

24. Read five chapters from a book on your reading list 

Next thing you know, you might finish the book. 

25. Take a nap (or five) 

If all you do on your Hooky Day is catch up on sleep, that is a win in our eyes. 


Just because the official Hooky Day is over it doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate.
